Locust Multi-Purpose Swarm Fighter
The Locust Fighter was designed for swarm tactics. They would outnumber their opponents and assault them with a variety of attacks. With energy absorbent material located on their 'legs' they are able to launch attacks against ships physically helping to cut into ships to board them or to depressurize enemy hangars. Usable in both air combat and on the ground the Locust fighter can act as a light mech on the surface giving them enormous versatility in combat. With the Iaso carriers being crewed by a mixed crew the Locust are remotely piloted by groups of Phyrexians and/or Kurians each of which have the mental capacity to control other living creatures. The fighters may contain a single soldier, but most of the time they will not as this is a waste of resources.
The Locust fighter is also the only fully biological vessel in the Oleander classification upon its release. It is grown by the Iaso Carriers and an be grown in the hangars of other carriers and will debut in the Tauriz Carriers shortly after they are in full production. They will be standard aboard all Av'Kel and Dusk Class Monitors after that.
The Locust Fighter is armed with:
1 Agni Cannon
5 Tengri Cannons
2 Dovin Basals
2 H-Planet Class AM missile tubes (13 missiles per tube) (implants)
The craft, being a living being, has no standard size but ranges between 15 and 20m in length when its legs are fully extended. On the ground while walking they stand between 4 and 5 m tall with a 2-3m wide stance.
