Kinetic Barrier
This can be overloaded though not with ease. As missiles can continue to accelerate because of the acceleration source the system cannot fully halt a missile's advance until the inner section where the missile will appear to have impacted a solid surface and detonate causing some of its explosive energy to travel to the primary shielding while much of it is still contained on the exterior of the Kinetic Barrier. These Barriers are to be deployed on all space craft along with mechs and tank units.

Zero Mass Generators
Ionized Plasma Shields
One of the more important new upgrades is the Plasma Shields. These shields are the first energy defense system used on Kutathi ships. The shield varies in strength depending on how much energy is being placed into the ship. Larger ships will have more plasma generators creating a larger and more powerful shield. Once ionization of plasma began ship shields were retrofitted and now can absorb the Ion and EMP weapon's effects at nearly 87% allowing the hull to absorb the rest.
The shield is mitigated allowing for energy transfer to location of incoming damage allowing it to dampen even the damage it does to the shield. This provides for extended shield strength.
Can be formed just inches above the hull in order to create a plasma 'skin' over the armor protecting it further from harm.
Rift Seal Cloaking
The Rift Seal Cloaking system has a two hour recharge time preventing the ships from using it in quick succession and require too much energy for multiple systems to be on one ship. In the future the hope is to have redundant generators for the system.
With further advancements in Rift Seal Cloaking the generators are now being produced smaller and more powerful. They are now used as standard equipment on all ships. This has given the IXN the ability to move entire invasion forces without them being spotted or to be harmed as they make their way to a battlezone.
Polyshield Systems
Liquid Nanite Shield
The system uses ionic pulses to control and manipulate the bio-nanites. The Bio-nanites continually grow and multiply until they have reached a population limit, based on the levels of energy fed to them. The nanite's ability to spread damage across the entire shield helps to keep each individual cell from being destroyed too quickly. When a cell dies it is cannibalized by nearby cells, which will quickly divide and replace the dead cell with a new one, given the energy output is the same. Quite often this leads to having too many cells, but this problem is alleviated as the extra cells will either starve in 2-3 standard days, or will be blasted off in combat where this is likeliest to occur.
The reactive ability of the nanites is due to Gravitonic Manipulation, similar to systems used by the PIS. By arranging the gravitons in the particles of each nanite they can be cycled from outer to inner positions as if housed in a liquid. The LNS is less of a shield and more of a secondary armor system to be placed on the outside of armor plates, the LNS can be anywhere from 10m to 3m thick where there is constant motion from the cells inside.
The system will be deployed normally, first in the IXN followed by integrations into aircraft and then mechs and ground units. Infantry will have to wait a long time for the LNS to reach them.
Interdiction Interference System
Vital Aura Door Generator
One of the earliest advancements to come from the touchstones. The Door generator taps into the vast network that the Pre-entities had created. By doing this a ship can connect any two points of space. This requires the sacrifice of vital aura and to do this the IKN has taught ship crews how to tear a small portion of their own vital aura off to feed the device to create a portal. These doors have no physical characteristics or gravitational pull. they simply rearrange space-time for a brief moment before failing and returning space-time to how it was originally. Permanent Doors can and have been created though the sacrifice of large numbers of creatures with large amounts vital aura. Doors come in all shapes and sizes used for transporting important individuals across large distances instantly. VA doors have also been used for defense in the past and present. As the reverse side of the door is completely impenetrable, an anomaly to physics, it is possible to isolate an area of space-time from the rest of the multi-verse though this will bring into play the Grovisian Effect.
The Grovisian effect was first observed during the First Ashen War when the Mri Empire deployed its first Vital Aura shield. They miscalculated the amount of energy required to penetrate it and lost just over a million souls trying to get through. They had trapped themselves and upon freeing themselves some 36 years later came to the realization that time had only moved 6 years outside of the shield. This became a normal routine to be used around starship construction areas such as the Forge with one major change, adding an additional door to the interior which connects to the exterior creating a safe passage with the benefit of the accelerated time. Attempts to multiply this effect have been made with no data being returned, all experiments assumed successful to a degree which caused a time paradox killing the experimenters as the experiment began.
